Hello again

Thanks Debbie for helping me figure out this blogging thing. I miss interacting with everyone here, but I've made a New Year's resolution to get more involved (now that I know how!) Happy Holidays.

Upcoming Photography Workshops

We would like to share several exciting workshops being offered through the Equine Photographers Network for 2012.

In March popular German photographer Gabriele Boiselle will be in the Wellington, Florida area for two sessions. Gabriele is known for her dramatic photos of Friesians and other baroque breeds and her calendars and books are sold around the world. Her workshops will amaze, inspire and educate you, not only in photography but our connection with horses. Find the info here. These workshops are filling quickly!

In early May the ever popular Colorado Cowboys Workshop and Great American Horse Drive will be offered. This is an event like no other and the unparallelled opportunity and access to photograph the western lifestyle, real deal cowboys and cowgirls and large herds of horses. Scott Trees, Carien Schippers and Nikon rep Mark Kettenhofen will lead sessions, Nikon gear will be available to try out and Photoshop guru Sherron Sheppard will lead two sessions on photoshop techniques. See you in Craig!

Equine Elegance

While driving through Coloma State Park in Northern California, I noticed this horse pulling a buggy full of passengers. This elegant horse stopped a few minutes to wait for traffic. I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped this shot as he was bowing his head. I couldn't wait to do this painting with all the beautiful reflections bouncing off of the white horse. It was a stunning fall day ... a perfect day to go on a buggy ride.

Investigators, Guest Artist on the Painting A Mustang A Day Challenge Blog, By Debbie Flood

                       Investigators Large Web view

I finished the Watercolor Investigators. This painting is 12 x 16 and depicts two burros who are 'Knoxville' and 'Hood'. This painting was created for another blog, that I was asked to be a guest artist on. The blog is Mustang Challenge A Day by Linda L. Martin.

There you will learn about Linda's project, as well as the info on the cute Burros and their 'mom' Debra Gulley, who supplied me with images of the two boys.

I enjoyed putting these guys in the Arizona (Sedona) landscape.

Inquiries to purchase, and also Gallery Owners who would like to Represent my work should be directed to

Thank you,

Debbie Flood

Sunglow II

The original painting to Sunglow was stolen a few years ago. I have decided to paint this over again and I like the results better than the first one. I have been painting white horses lately, because they are a challenge. There's reflective colors everywhere and if you don't put them in the right place, the painting won't read right. This painting is available. Please contact the artist at
